Brief synopsis -
Fact-based story of supermodel Gia Marie Carangi (Angelina Jolie) follows her life from a rebel working in her father’s
diner at age 17 to her death in 1986 aged 26 from AIDS, one of the first women in America whose death was attributed to the disease. In between, she
followed a downward spiral of drug abuse and failed relationships.

Again, being tied down to a true story does not help the film. The Golden Globe is well deserved for Angelina’s believable performance of the
model, but it is really only watchable if you are interested in the model’s life, or you need to see Angelina naked. Personally : it was somewhat
painful to watch.

Winning a Golden Globe for this performance, this was one of the first roles which really launched Jolie into the limelight. She is the main star
and gets quite a lot of action in this film. It is tastefully done and gives a strong story line tied to a true story. AJ pulls off the role
expertly again getting to cry, shout, and get naked !
